The equipment portfolio includes KONICA MINOLTA Color and Appearance Measurement Instruments from Japan, Q-LAB Weathering Test Equipment from the USA, and RK PrintCoat Instruments laboratory coating equipment from the UK. The Konica Minolta CM-3700A Plus is a high-precision benchtop spectrophotometer for laboratory reference measurement, corporate master color standards, color matching, R&D, supplier qualification and cross-site digital color management. It measures reflectance and transmittance, can acquire SCI and SCE reflectance data concurrently, and offers LAV, LMAV, MAV and SAV reflectance areas for samples ranging from large heterogeneous materials to small localized color areas. Under the specified conditions, the CM-3700A Plus lists white colorimetric repeatability of SD ΔE*ab ≤ 0.005, black colorimetric repeatability of SD ΔE*ab ≤ 0.02, and inter-instrument agreement of ΔE*ab ≤ 0.08. Its four reflectance areas are LAV at Ø25.4 mm measurement with Ø28 mm illumination, LMAV at Ø16 mm with Ø20 mm, MAV at Ø8 mm with Ø11 mm, and SAV at 3 × 5 mm with 5 × 7 mm illumination. For transmittance work, the measurement area is approximately Ø20 mm with approximately Ø25 mm illumination, the open chamber supports samples up to approximately 50 mm thick, and optional holders and cells support transparent plastics, glass, optical films and liquids. The instrument provides an internal camera viewfinder, sample-surface temperature measurement, ambient temperature and humidity monitoring, and WAA wavelength analysis and adjustment for checking and correcting small wavelength shifts within the adjustable range. Computer-controlled UV adjustment uses a 400 nm cutoff and continuously variable settings from 0.0% to 100.0% in 1,000 steps, while optional SpectraMagic NX2 supports target and sample management, color-difference analysis, spectral graphs, pass/fail evaluation, reporting and digital color communication. Konica Minolta CM-17d and CM-16d are lightweight portable spectrophotometers for industrial color quality control, production inspection and R&D, using d:8° geometry with switchable SCI and SCE measurement and an approximately 0.7-second measurement time. The CM-17d provides Ø8 mm MAV and Ø3 mm SAV measurement areas plus an electronic camera viewfinder, while the CM-16d uses a fixed Ø8 mm measurement area and has no camera viewfinder. Under Konica Minolta standard conditions, CM-17d repeatability is SD ΔE*ab ≤ 0.02 with inter-instrument agreement ΔE*ab ≤ 0.12, while CM-16d repeatability is SD ΔE*ab ≤ 0.04 with inter-instrument agreement ΔE*ab ≤ 0.20. The CM-17d camera viewfinder helps position measurements on small buttons, molded parts, narrow edges, localized graphics, multicolor samples and curved components, and its dark-sample applications include piano-black plastics, automotive interior parts, dark electronic housings and rubber. USB 2.0 is standard, and the optional CM-A300 module adds WLAN and Bluetooth communication for mobile color measurement and locations where cable connections are inconvenient. Both models include WAA for diagnosing and correcting small wavelength shifts, and optional SpectraMagic NX2 supports target and sample management, color-difference analysis, pass/fail evaluation, spectral reflectance graphs, reporting and supplier-customer digital color communication. The CM-17d includes a charging and zero-calibration cradle as standard, while the cradle is optional for the CM-16d; listed application areas include automotive, plastics and rubber, electronics, coatings, textiles and leather, building materials, packaging and cosmetics. The CM-36dG succeeds the CM-3600A, uses a built-in d/8 integrating sphere, adds 60° gloss measurement, and supports data exchange with CM-3600A under SCI/LAV conditions. Its switchable measurement ports are LAV Ø25.4 mm, LMAV Ø16 mm, MAV Ø8 mm and SAV Ø4 mm. The CM-36dG can measure reflective, transparent and fluorescent color using SCI/SCE switching, diffused lighting and UV-cut filters. The CM-36dG meets requirements for standards such as ISO, ASTM, DIN and JIS and uses a xenon flash for measurement of very dark shades. Windows computer control and USB connectivity are provided, and the sample port is designed to measure the center of larger samples without cutting or damaging them. The CM-36D succeeds the CM-3600A, uses a built-in d/8 integrating sphere, and supports data exchange with CM-3600A under SCI/LAV conditions. Its available measurement ports are LAV Ø25.4 mm, LMAV Ø16 mm, MAV Ø8 mm and SAV Ø4 mm. The CM-36D measures reflective, transparent and fluorescent color using SCI/SCE switching, diffused lighting and UV-cut filters. It lists compliance with ISO, ASTM, DIN and JIS requirements and a xenon flash for measuring very dark shades. Windows software can control the instrument through USB, and its sample port allows the center of a larger sample to be measured without cutting or damaging the sample. The CR-400 handheld chroma meter uses an 8 mm aperture and can operate by itself or connect to a data processor for added functions and on-site printing. It is the successor to the CR-300 and is compatible with existing CR-300 data, allowing existing data to be retained during an upgrade. The CR-400 stores up to 1,000 measurements internally or 2,000 when the data processor is connected. The data processor can run on batteries or an AC adapter, provides a built-in printer, supports user-defined color calculation and evaluation formulas, and lets the LCD display pass/fail information and color-difference graphs in six selectable languages. SpectraMagic NX compatibility supports viewing and editing results, color-difference QC with primary and secondary targets, transfer of older data, graph and template output, printing and export to Excel. The CM-36dGV is another CM-3600A successor with a built-in d/8 integrating sphere, 60° gloss measurement and SCI/LAV data exchange with the earlier model.
